The honest answer is that it depends which side of an invisible line your house sits on, and right now it doesn't matter anyway, because a fire ban overrides everything below.
That last part is the piece most people miss. So start there.
Yes, and it beats everything else on this page.When Jefferson County is under a Stage 1 or Stage 2 fire ban, all fireworks are prohibited in unincorporated parts of the county. That includes the normally legal ones, the sparklers and the fountains. Violations can run up to 600 dollars apiece.Bans get declared and lifted on short notice in a dry summer, sometimes within a day. Check jeffcosheriffco.gov before you spend money on anything, because the roadside tent will happily sell you something you can't legally light.
The rule of thumb is simple. If it stays on the ground and doesn't explode, it's generally permissible. Sparklers, ground spinners, cone and cylinder fountains, snakes.If it leaves the ground or explodes, it's illegal in Colorado. Firecrackers, bottle rockets, Roman candles, M-80s, cherry bombs. That's true statewide, not just here, and it doesn't matter that a stand a few miles away was willing to sell it to you.A few rules people don't know about:
You can't sell fireworks at all without a license as a retailer, wholesaler or exporter.
You can't give or sell any fireworks to anyone under 16.
Nobody under 16 can buy fireworks, including permissible ones.
Nobody under 16 can set off permissible fireworks without an adult present.
Penalties depend on where you were, what you did, and what happened as a result. They range from a petty offense all the way up to a felony.
This is the part no statewide guide can answer for you, and in 80127 it genuinely varies street to street.A Littleton mailing address does not mean you're inside Littleton city limits. Large parts of 80127 and most of Ken Caryl are unincorporated Jefferson County, which means the Sheriff sets the rules and the city's code doesn't reach you. Other parts of the ZIP are inside the city.If you don't know which you are, the county's property lookup will tell you, and it's worth knowing for more than fireworks. It decides who plows your street, who answers a code complaint, and whose fire restrictions apply to your yard.
Littleton is stricter than the state, and this is where people out here get caught out.The city says it has adopted the International Fire Code provision prohibiting the possession, manufacture, storage, sale, handling and use of Class 1.4G fireworks. That's the "consumer" category, and the city's own list of what it covers runs to bottle rockets, ground spinners, pinwheels, helicopters, flares, Roman candles, firecrackers, black snakes, and sparklers.Read that list again, because the last item is the one that surprises people. A sparkler that's legal a few blocks away in unincorporated Jeffco is not legal inside Littleton city limits, fire ban or no fire ban. Same holiday, same street sometimes, different rule.To report fireworks inside the city, call Littleton police non-emergency at 303-794-1551 rather than 911.

You'll need an exact address for a report to be useful. "Somewhere behind my house" doesn't give anyone something to act on.
Anything that flies or bangs is illegal in Colorado, ban or no ban. Anything that sits on the ground and sparks is legal in unincorporated Jeffco only when no fire ban is in effect, and in a dry summer that's a bigger "only" than people expect. Inside Littleton city limits, the city's position is that even those are out, year round.
Check the Sheriff's page before you buy, and if you're not sure which jurisdiction you're in, find out once and you'll never have to wonder again.
